Digital media in Journalism
Well, as you know I´m student of Journalism and in this career are really important the digital media because currently all we do is trough the internet!. We must understand that we are in a globalized
world, this means that all people want and need to be connected to know what is
going on around them.
The definition of digital media is comprises all those communication actions that a media performs on the Internet and the electronic newspaper is defined as an interactive and multimedia product. It uses different resources that return it, a multimedia medium such as text, image, video and sound. In addition, it is revolutionizing the basics of print journalism.
The benefits of digital information media are the immediacy of information and easy Access. It is for this reason that the audience uses them much more than the written media, because they are faster and comfortable to read.
Another benefit is that the news being online are updated from time to time and you should not wait a whole day, as would happen with the media on paper, to find out if the news changed or not. Some examples of online information media in Chile are: "EMOL", "EL DESCONCIERTO", "EL MOSTRADOR", "THE CLINIC" and "EL DINAMO". Each previous media has its own editorial line and its own objective audience.
These media run several internet sites and can be viewed through social networks like facebook and twiter mainly. This is one of the reasons why young people prefer these means
Hi, I can totally agree with your opinion on digital media and it's advantages. I don't know if it's good or bad but i wouldn't know ANYTHING about what is going on in the world if it wasn't for the internet news platforms. What I like about it, is that you can access to the information anywhere and anytime, which is amazing.
ResponderEliminarIn my personal opinion I think internet is an undoubtedly one of the best creations cause ,as you said it, connected all the world and the information travel from place to place in seconds.

But I have to say that sometimes I ask myself if the fact that all the world can "inform" others is the cause people to doubt the value of journalism. Maybe it is just one of many reasons.

I also believe that digital platforms help connect us! But I'm not sure how the technology will be good for everyone in general, not just journalists. I think the technology makes us confuse comfort with laziness

ResponderEliminarI fully share your opinion, digital media will in future be the largest source of information, if they are not already. At this moment the only worry that this type of difusion generate in my is when they are published in social networks, there, through the comments of people who are not professionals in the subject, are beginning to generate false information that are very harmful to society.
